A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Code Section 48-7-27 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the

computation of taxable net income, so as to exclude certain grants for broadband2
investments; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date and applicability;3
to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5
SECTION 1.6
Code Section 48-7-27 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the computation7
of taxable net income, is amended by adding a new paragraph in subsection (a) to read as8
follows:9
"(11.3) Any grant or subgrant received pursuant to the Broadband Equity, Access, and

Deployment Program established pursuant to 47 U.S.C. 1702, or the American Rescue11
Plan Act of 2021, Public Law 117-2, for the purpose of making investments in broadband12
infrastructure;"13

SECTION 2.

This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2024, and shall be applicable to all taxable years15
beginning on or after January 1, 2022.16
SECTION 3.17
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.18
