A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Mikey Sparkle; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mikey Sparkle was born in Highgate, St. Mary, on the island of Jamaica and2
emigrated to the United States, where he first lived in New York and then relocated to the3
Atlanta area; and4
WHEREAS, he is a multi-talented individual who contributes to his community through5
many avenues; and6
WHEREAS, that his name is synonymous with hard work is evidenced by the broad variety7
of businesses that he owns; and8
WHEREAS, he is a philanthropist who co-owns Sparkle D's Restaurant and Lounge, Sparkle9
Auto Care, Mikey Sparkle Productions, and Da Flava Radio; and10
WHEREAS, he is also an events creator and promoter who hosts the annual Caribbean11
Atlanta Family Fun Day and concerts, plays, and Christmas parties that have been well12
supported by his beloved community; and13

WHEREAS, his Mikey Sparkle Show airs several times a week on Atlanta's FM 97.9, and
14
his programs are in syndication in the United States and the United Kingdom; and15
WHEREAS, he was conferred with an Outstanding Citizen Award by Georgia's Secretary16
of State, Brad Raffensperger, for his works throughout the community; and17
WHEREAS, he is proud to be of service to the diaspora and will always be an advocate for18
core Jamaican principles and standards and will continue to represent others in a positive19
manner; and20
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.22
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23
the members of this body recognize and commend Mikey Sparkle and thank his for his24
efforts of behalf of his community and state.25
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to27
Mikey Sparkle.28
