R. 699 - 1 - House Resolution 699 By: Representative Houston of the 170 th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Amos Kimbrough on his outstanding public service; and for 1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Amos Kimbrough has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the3 vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare4 of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced7 dramatically by his superlative service with the Tift County Board of Elections and8 Registration; and9 WHEREAS, during his distinguished tenure of more than 20 years, he has dedicated10 innumerable hours of his time and energy toward ensuring the proper functioning of the11 board and that voting results are reported as quickly as possible; and12 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high13 ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom14 23 LC 126 0329 H. R. 699 - 2 - which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved 15 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and16 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for17 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and18 WHEREAS, Amos Kimbrough has served with honor and distinction, and his vision and19 unyielding commitment to excellence will be sorely missed upon the occasion of his20 retirement; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Amos Kimbrough for his efficient,25 effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to Tift County; congratulate him upon the grand26 occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and27 happiness.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Amos30 Kimbrough.31
