A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to

elections and primaries generally, so as to provide that any person employed or retained by2
a county election superintendent to conduct election duties must be a citizen of the United3
States; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5
SECTION 1.6
Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elections and7
primaries generally, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:8
"21-2-78.

Any persons employed or retained by a county election superintendent to undertake any10
election related duties arising from this chapter shall be a judicious, intelligent, and upright11
citizen of the United States and except as otherwise provided in this chapter be a resident12
of or otherwise employed by the county in which they are employed or retained."13
SECTION 2.14
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.15
