25 LC 39 4538 House Bill 208 By: Representatives Smith of the 70 th , Corbett of the 174 th , Stephens of the 164 th , Burchett of the 176 th , Rhodes of the 124 th , and others A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to 1 license plates promoting or supporting certain agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations with2 proceeds disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit corporation, so as3 to establish a specialty license plate supporting the state parks and historic sites division of4 the Department of Natural Resources; to establish a specialty license plate promoting5 conservation and enhancement of black bass populations; to provide for compliance with6 constitutional requirements; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for7 other purposes.8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:9 SECTION 1.10 Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to license plates11 promoting or supporting certain agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations with proceeds12 disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit corporation, is amended by13 adding new paragraphs to subsections (m) and (n) to read as follows:14 "(18) A special license plate to support the state parks and historic sites division of the 15 Department of Natural Resources in its protection, management, and maintenance of this16 H. B. 208 - 1 - 25 LC 39 4538 state's natural, historical, and cultural resources while providing opportunities for public17 enjoyment and education. The funds raised by the sale of this special license plate shall18 be disbursed to the Department of Natural Resources for use by the state parks and19 historic sites division for the purposes provided for in this paragraph. Such license plate20 shall not include a space for a county name decal but shall instead bear the legend21 'Georgia State Parks' in lieu of the name of the county of issuance."22 "(10) A special license plate promoting conservation and enhancement of black bass23 populations. The funds raised by the sale of this special license plate shall be disbursed24 to the Georgia Natural Resources Foundation to supplement black bass research,25 restoration, habitat improvement, stocking, and other management programs."26 SECTION 2.27 In accordance with the requirements of Article III, Section IX, Paragraph VI(n) of the28 Constitution of the State of Georgia, this Act shall not become law unless it receives the29 requisite two-thirds' majority vote in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.30 SECTION 3.31 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.32 H.
