The House Committee on Motor Vehicles offers the following substitute to HB 369:
A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Part 1 of Article 1 of Chapter 8 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia1
Annotated, relating to general provisions relative to equipment of motor vehicles, so as to2
provide for vehicle equipment standards for motor vehicles used for the sale of food or3
beverages that primarily conduct such sales upon roadways; to provide for related matters;4
to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6
SECTION 1.7
Part 1 of Article 1 of Chapter 8 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated,8
relating to general provisions relative to equipment of motor vehicles, is amended by adding9
a new Code section to read as follows:10
"40-8-12.11
(a)  On and after January 1, 2026, any motor vehicle used for the mobile sale of food or12
beverages which primarily conducts such sales during stops upon a roadway shall be13
equipped with the following:14

(1)  A signal arm that can be extended horizontally from the left side of the vehicle that15
is a triangular shape, yellow in color, and contains the words 'caution,' 'slow,' or16
'children'; and17
(2)  A sign mounted upon the rear of the motor vehicle that shall be at least three square18
feet in size and display a warning that the vehicle makes frequent stops.19
(b)  The Department of Public Safety shall be authorized to adopt rules and regulations for20
the purposes of this Code section."21
SECTION 2.22
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.23
