A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Kolton Teis Sargent; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Kolton Teis Sargent has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the most2
distinguished rank conferred by the Boy Scouts of America; and3
WHEREAS, a candidate for the most exceptional award in scouting must complete a4
rigorous program of training and demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques5
and the attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and6
WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty level of achievement, and7
Kolton has ably evidenced his aptitude and competency in mastering the various special8
skills taught through the Scouts BSA program; and9
WHEREAS, this hard-working young man has demonstrated great leadership skills and10
initiative and has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of honesty and11
fairness during his years with the Scouts BSA program; and12

WHEREAS, a member of Troop 705 in Monroe, Georgia, Kolton earned the rank of Eagle

Scout by leading the preservation of a historic spring and the creation of hiking trails at the14
Union Chapel Church Natural Area; and15
WHEREAS, over his six years of scouting, he has earned an additional 32 Merit Badges and16
attended four summer camps at Rainy Mountain in Clayton, Georgia, as well as High17
Adventure Camps at Florida Sea Base and Philmont Scout Ranch; and18
WHEREAS, the perseverance and determination displayed by this exceptional young leader19
set an example for all Georgians, and great success is surely in this young man's future.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body commend Kolton Teis Sargent for his diligence and dedication in22
pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on23
attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to26
Kolton Teis Sargent.27
