A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Dawn Johns; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dawn Johns, Vice President of the Colquitt Regional Medical Center, retired2
on December 31, 2024, providing over 31 years of outstanding service; and3
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns began her career with the Colquitt Regional Medical Center as the4
Director of Human Resources, where her diligent work and leadership paved the way for her5
advancement and promotion to senior management; and6
WHEREAS, over the course of her career, Mrs. Johns held leadership responsibilities for7
Human Resources, Employee Health, Education and Training, Quality Improvement, Guest8
Relations, Environmental Services, Security, Foundation, Volunteer Auxiliary, and9
Marketing; and10
WHEREAS, with a vision of establishing the center as the Employer of Choice in the region,11
Mrs. Johns executed recruitment and retention strategies that supported this vision while12
ensuring an engaged and competent workforce; and13

WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns played an integral role in developing partnerships with educational
14
facilities and expanding services by facilitating innovative avenues for the training of future15
healthcare professionals; and16
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns fostered an organizational culture that emphasized positivity, open17
communication, meaningful work, fairness, reward and recognition, and consistency while18
supporting and guiding both management and employees in maintaining a safe and pleasant19
work environment; and20
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns represented Colquitt Regional by serving in leadership roles21
throughout the state, such as the Georgia Society for Healthcare Human Resources President,22
Chairman of the local board at Southern Regional Technical College, and Treasurer of the23
Executive Board for the Technical College System of Georgia; and24
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns contributed to the Colquitt Regional Medical Center receiving25
numerous recognitions, including Joint Commission accreditation, Leapfrog designations,26
Rural Hospital of the Year, the Baldrige Award, and many other accolades.27
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28
the members of this body recognize and commend Dawn Johns for her efficient, effective,29
unselfish, and dedicated service; congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement;30
and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.31
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dawn33
Johns.34
