A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Epilepsy Foundation Georgia for its dedication to epilepsy

awareness and advocacy as well as its work toward improving access to services for2
individuals living with epilepsy across the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.3
WHEREAS, February 10 is recognized as International Epilepsy Day, a day dedicated to4
raising global awareness of epilepsy, advocating for those affected, and promoting efforts to5
improve the lives of individuals living with epilepsy; and6
WHEREAS, epilepsy is a neurological disorder affecting more than 110,000 residents in7
Georgia, causing seizures that impact daily life and requiring recurring medical care, support,8
and awareness; and9
WHEREAS, the Epilepsy Foundation Georgia has been a staunch advocate for individuals10
and families affected by epilepsy, providing essential services, resources, and educational11
initiatives to improve their quality of life; and12
WHEREAS, the Foundation works endlessly to raise public awareness about epilepsy,13
eradicate stigma, and promote understanding of seizure disorders through community14
outreach, educational programs, and advocacy efforts; and15

WHEREAS, the organization facilitates access to critical healthcare services, support groups,
16
and financial assistance programs, ensuring that individuals with epilepsy receive the17
treatment and support they need regardless of economic status; and18
WHEREAS, the Epilepsy Foundation Georgia collaborates with medical professionals,19
policymakers, and community organizations to advance research, improve healthcare20
policies, and expand services for those living with epilepsy; and21
WHEREAS, the tireless efforts of the Foundation and its dedicated staff, volunteers, and22
supporters have made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of Georgians by creating23
a more inclusive and supportive community.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25
the members of this body recognize and commend the Epilepsy Foundation Georgia for its26
invaluable work in promoting epilepsy awareness, advocating for individuals with epilepsy,27
and improving access to essential services across the State of Georgia.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the30
Epilepsy Foundation Georgia.31
