A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the H. G. Yeomans III Family Trust, the 2024 Georgia Tree Farmer of the

Year; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, at the Georgia Forestry Association's Annual Conference & Forestry Expo in3
Savannah, the Georgia Tree Farm Program named the H. G. Yeomans III Family Trust as the4
2024 Georgia Tree Farmer of the Year in recognition of their outstanding forest management5
and dedication to sustainable land stewardship; and6
WHEREAS, presented through the American Tree Farm System, this prestigious award7
honors private landowners who demonstrate forestry practices that support local wildlife,8
wood production, water conservation, and recreational opportunities; and9
WHEREAS, established in the 1700s, the Yeomans family farm has grown from its original10
275 acres to encompass 2,300 acres of beautifully kept land; and11
WHEREAS, their logging business, Yeomans Wood and Timber, is widely recognized for12
its commitment to forest stewardship, employing sustainable forestry management practices13
such as prescribed fire, native longleaf pine restoration, and wildlife habitat preservation; and14

WHEREAS, they have additionally integrated soil and water-friendly road construction,
15
designed custom deer stands to accommodate physically disabled outdoor enthusiasts, and16
repurposed reclaimed wood and bricks from old farm structures for educational events and17
family gatherings; and18
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplary family be appropriately19
honored during this special time.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body congratulate the H. G. Yeomans III Family Trust upon their22
recognition as the 2024 Georgia Tree Farmer of the Year as well as extend best wishes for23
continued success.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the26
H. G. Yeomans III Family Trust.27
