25 LC 129 0220 House Resolution 434 By: Representatives Jones of the 143 rd , Herring of the 145 th , Flournoy of the 74 th , and McQueen of the 61 st A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Terrance Lamont Cooper; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, the members of this body wish to express their deepest and most sincere regret2 at the passing of Terrance Lamont Cooper on February 16, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Terrance Lamont Cooper was born on June 3, 1971, in Queens, New York, and4 later relocated to Georgia in 1985; and5 WHEREAS, he was educated in the Bibb County School System, attending Florence Bernd6 Elementary School and Appling B Middle School before graduating from Northeast High7 School in 1989; and8 WHEREAS, he pursued higher education at Valdosta State College before beginning his9 professional career; and10 WHEREAS, he answered the call to service by enlisting in the United States Army National11 Guard, where he served honorably as a Material Storage and Handling Specialist with the12 Detachment 1, Bravo Company, 148th Brigade; and13 H. R. 434 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0220 WHEREAS, as a Desert Storm Veteran (1990-1991), he demonstrated unwavering courage 14 and commitment to the defense of this nation; and15 WHEREAS, he embarked on a distinguished career at the Centers for Disease Control and16 Prevention, beginning as an IT Helpdesk Support Contractor in 1999, and through his hard17 work and dedication, he became a full-time employee in July 2024 as a Helpdesk Lead; and18 WHEREAS, Terrance Lamont Cooper was a devoted son, friend, and colleague whose19 kindness, dedication, and service will long be remembered by those who knew and loved20 him.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Terrance Lamont Cooper,23 express their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, and recognize his outstanding24 contributions to both his community and the nation.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the27 family of Terrance Lamont Cooper.28 H.
