25 LC 112 3017 House Resolution 486 By: Representatives Corbett of the 174 th and Burchett of the 176 th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Brantley County girls tennis team for winning the 2024 GHSA Class AA 1 State Girls Tennis Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Brantley County girls tennis team has established and maintained a proud3 tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team5 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable6 2024 campaign, the team captured the GHSA Class AA State Girls Tennis Championship;7 and8 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding9 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the10 team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Coach Patrick11 Stieve, Coach Dalton Lairsey, Coach Reid Teatsorth, and Coach Kate Melvin; and12 WHEREAS, this all-star team included Brooklyn Wildes, Raylee Strickland, Kaleigh Oakie,13 Jacie Riggins, Chasadee Waldron, Summer Colley, Savannah Carroll, Bri Crews, Harlee14 Driggers, and Cheryl Tencza; and15 H. R. 486 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3017 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by 16 competing with determination and precision throughout the season, it is abundantly proper17 to call them champions.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body congratulate the Brantley County girls tennis team for winning the20 2024 GHSA Class AA State Girls Tennis Championship and extend best wishes for their21 continued success.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 Brantley County girls tennis team.25 H.
