25 LC 112 3260 House Resolution 507 By: Representatives Cheokas of the 151 st , Williams of the 148 th , Corbett of the 174 th , Dickey of the 134 th , Yearta of the 152 nd , and others A RESOLUTION Commending the 2025 Watermelon Capital Queens, Miss Georgia Commodity Queens, and 1 Miss Georgia Sweet Potato Queens; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, agriculture continues to serve a vital role within Georgia's economy,3 contributing significantly to the state's prosperity and heritage; and4 WHEREAS, the 2025 Watermelon Capital Queens, Miss Georgia Commodity Queens, and5 Miss Georgia Sweet Potato Queens represent Georgia's agricultural industries with grace and6 commitment, promoting awareness of the state's most important commodities; and7 WHEREAS, these distinguished queens serve as ambassadors for Georgia's agricultural8 sector, participating in events throughout the year to educate the public and advocate for the9 importance of agriculture in the state; and10 WHEREAS, this year's exceptional representatives include Collyns Austin, Baby Miss11 Georgia Commodity, of Americus; Leigh Sturdevan, Miss Georgia Commodity, of Rebecca;12 Scarlett Tyson, Tiny Miss Melon, of Americus; Ava Wilkinson, Miss Melon, of Eastman;13 Abigail Odom, Petite Miss Melon, of Leesburg; Jessie Blair, Ms. Georgia Commodity and14 Miss Georgia Sweet Potato, of Moultrie; Charlotte Shiflett, Baby Miss Georgia Commodity,15 H. R. 507 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3260 of Adel; Karter Jane Smith, Little Miss Georgia Sweet Potato, of Ashburn; Alanna Ondic, 16 Teen Miss Georgia Sweet Potato, of Watkinsville; and Nora Downie, Tiny Miss Georgia17 Sweet Potato, of Vidalia; and18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that these outstanding young women be19 recognized for their service and dedication to Georgia's agricultural industry.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body commend the 2025 Watermelon Capital Queens, Miss Georgia22 Commodity Queens, and Miss Georgia Sweet Potato Queens for their efforts in advocating23 for Georgia's agricultural industries and raising awareness of the state's agricultural heritage.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the26 2025 Watermelon Capital Queens, Miss Georgia Commodity Queens, and Miss Georgia27 Sweet Potato Queens.28 H.
