A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Johanna Caicedo; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Johanna Caicedo has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the2
vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare3
of the citizens of Georgia; and4
WHEREAS, Johanna was born in Cali, Colombia, and migrated to the United States in June5
1990; and 6
WHEREAS, as the first member of her family to attend college, Johanna proudly graduated7
Magna Cum Laude from the New York College in 2001, with a Bachelor of Arts in8
psychology; and9
WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,10
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced11
dramatically by her over 20 years of superlative service and dedication to her community;12
and13

WHEREAS, Johanna's career in public service began after interning with the Department of
14
Education of the City of New York, which lead her to working with the AIDS Center of15
Queens County, in Jamaica, New York, where she advocated for healthy lifestyles within the16
LGBTQ community; and 17
WHEREAS, after relocating the Gwinnett County in 2015, she began working with CETPA,18
a mental health clinic for adults and adolescents in the Latinx community; and 19
WHEREAS, while working at CETPA, Johanna took part in numerous community panels,20
such as the Gwinnett Juvenile Court and the Dekalb Juvenile Court, the first Hispanic panel21
in the county; and 22
WHEREAS, currently, she proudly serves as an Outreach Coordinator for Lifting Latinx23
Voices Initiative, the only Latinx-led program in Georgia that focuses on addressing24
comprehensive reproductive and sexual health issues faced by Latinx families; and25
WHEREAS, Johanna's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience26
and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state27
have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and28
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for29
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and30
WHEREAS, Johanna has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and unyielding31
commitment to her community have set the standard for public service; and32

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
33
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.34
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that35
the members of this body recognize and commend Johanna Caicedo for her efficient,36
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most37
sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.38
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized39
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to40
Johanna Caicedo.41
