A RESOLUTION
Commending Community EsTr(El/La); and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Community Estr(El/La) is a grassroots organization led by immigrant,2
Spanish-speaking (Black, Indigenous, Brown), and transgender individuals who are3
dedicated to defending, organizing, and empowering the human rights of transgender4
Georgians; and5
WHEREAS, this organization provides vital programs and services to support transgender6
and queer individuals, including healthcare access, HIV prevention, referrals for hormone7
replacement therapy, and advocacy for labor rights and protections; and8
WHEREAS, Community EsTr(El/La) fosters empowerment and education through initiatives9
such as the Trans Queer School, which offers English classes for members and clients, and10
a monthly newsletter that highlights the organization's efforts; and11
WHEREAS, the organization plays a key role in social and political advocacy, engaging in12
mobilization efforts, legislative initiatives, and community-based actions to defend the rights13
of transgender individuals and immigrants; and14

WHEREAS, through cultural empowerment, leadership development, and intervention
15
programs, Community EsTr(El/La) provides safe spaces for training, collaboration, and16
organizing, strengthening the resilience and self-determination of the transgender and gender17
non-conforming community; and18
WHEREAS, Trans Liberation Day is a significant observance dedicated to recognizing the19
struggles and celebrating the achievements of the transgender community, and Community20
EsTr(El/La) continues to be an essential force in advancing justice, equity, and visibility for21
transgender Georgians.22
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23
the members of this body commend Community EsTr(El/La) upon this year's Trans24
Liberation Day for its dedication to advancing the rights and well-being of transgender and25
gender non-conforming individuals as well as extend best wishes for continued success.26
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to28
Community EsTr(El/La).29
