25 LC 112 3478 House Resolution 686 By: Representative Petrea of the 166 th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Barry A. Brown; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, Savannah native Barry A. Brown was born on November 6, 1954, to the late2 Henry J. and Bernardine Osbourne Brown; and3 WHEREAS, he graduated from Savannah High School and dedicated over 20 years to the4 City of Tybee, serving on the Planning Commission and City Council as well as Mayor Pro5 Tempore; and6 WHEREAS, as a longtime resident of Tybee Island, Barry A. Brown was a committed7 member of the Marine Rescue Squadron for over 25 years; and8 WHEREAS, Barry A. Brown belonged to the American Legion Post 154, and professionally,9 he was the proud owner and operator of Barry A. Brown Co. Inc.; and 10 WHEREAS, his family was the most important thing in his life; his greatest treasures were11 his grandchildren; and12 H. R. 686 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3478 WHEREAS, Barry A. Brown enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching chef, restauranteur, and 13 television host Guy Fieri; and14 WHEREAS, his dry sense of humor made him beloved by all, and he will long be15 remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who16 had the great fortune of knowing him; and17 WHEREAS, he never met a stranger; Barry A. Brown loved helping others and his kindness18 was boundless; and19 WHEREAS, family, particularly his wife of 51 years, Sunni; his children, Brandon and20 Lauren; his siblings, nieces, and nephews; and his "greatest treasures"—grandchildren Colby,21 Tyler, Brayden, and Pheonix—meant the world to Barry A. Brown.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body honor the life and memory of Barry A. Brown and express their24 deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the27 family of Barry A.
