A RESOLUTION
Recognizing April 6, 2025, as The Georgia Cup Day and celebrating The Georgia Cup's 28th

anniversary; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Mr. José Luis Ballester of Spain and Arizona State University, while displaying3
great golfing skill, courage, and sportsmanship, won the United States Amateur4
Championship in 2024; and5
WHEREAS, Mr. Jacob Skov Olesen of Denmark, while displaying great golf skill, courage,6
and sportsmanship, won the British Amateur Championship in 2024; and7
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia enjoys a long and illustrious history of distinguished golf8
champions both professional and amateur; and9
WHEREAS, the Golf Club of Georgia has organized a competition between the United10
States and British Amateur Golf Champions known as The Georgia Cup; and11
WHEREAS, The Georgia Cup provides a unique golf competition and is a charitable12
fundraising event benefiting Folds of Honor; and13

WHEREAS, The Georgia Cup is a celebration of championship amateur golf and the honor,

integrity, sportsmanship, and civility displayed by those competitors who have played with15
such distinction.16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17
the members of this body recognize April 6, 2025, as The Georgia Cup Day and celebrate18
The Georgia Cup's 28th anniversary.19
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized20
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to The21
Golf Club of Georgia and its participants.22
