25 LC 112 3601 House Resolution 912 By: Representative Burns of the 159 th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Conn Family; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, the Conn Family has dedicated a combined total of 173 years of service under2 the Gold Dome, including the tenures of Roy Conn, Clifford Conn, Jane Conn, Judy Conn,3 Mandy Conn, Brian Conn, and Barry Conn; and4 WHEREAS, Roy, the father of Clifford and Jane, set an example of remarkable service for5 his children through his 16 years as security with the Georgia Building Authority, working6 from 1970 to 1986; and7 WHEREAS, the longest-serving member of the Conn Family, Clifford has spent 53 years8 and counting as part of the Clerk's Office, where he works on the night crew; and9 WHEREAS, during her 34 years of service, Jane spent 10 and a half years working in the10 Governor's Office and 23 and a half years as part of the Georgia Building Authority, serving11 from 1965 to 2002; and12 H. R. 912 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3601 WHEREAS, Judy has served the Clerk's Office with distinction alongside Clifford, her 13 husband, for 33 years, and the two have continued the Conn Family's legacy of service14 through their three children, Brian, Barry, and Mandy; and15 WHEREAS, with 21 years, 11 years, and five years of service to the Clerk's Office16 respectively, Brian, Barry, and Mandy represent the newest generation of the Conn Family17 to have served under the Gold Dome; and18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this extraordinary family be appropriately19 honored during this special time.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body recognize and commend the Conn Family for their decades of22 exemplary service to the Georgia State Capitol as well as extend best wishes to each family23 member for future health, happiness, and success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the26 Conn Family.27 H.
