A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Theta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi

Fraternity Inc.; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Theta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. has3
proudly served the communities of Fayette and Coweta counties since its founding on4
January 7, 2002; and5
WHEREAS, since its inception, the chapter has awarded $500,000 in college scholarships6
and provided academic mentoring to the youth of Fayette and Coweta counties, guiding and7
supporting them to achieve personal success; and8
WHEREAS, the chapter has demonstrated its commitment to community service through9
social action initiatives such as providing holiday meals to families in need, donating school10
supplies to local schools, and assisting with disaster relief efforts following the devastating11
tornadoes in Newnan; and12
WHEREAS, the chapter has additionally adopted a section of Highway in Coweta County13
and participates in highway cleanups multiple times a year; and14

WHEREAS, the chapter annually donates thousands of dollars in toys to families in need in

Fayette and Coweta counties, with the 2024 toy drive exceeding $10,000 in donations and16
marking its largest effort to date; and17
WHEREAS, the chapter hosts and participates in annual blood drives, with donations18
contributing to saving over 845 lives, and actively supports cancer awareness through19
participation in walks for the American Cancer Society; and20
WHEREAS, in 2024, the chapter hosted the inaugural "Captain's 5" event to raise awareness21
of prostate cancer; and22
WHEREAS, the chapter further conducts regular voter registration drives, supporting civic23
engagement and ensuring that residents of Fayette and Coweta counties have access to voter24
education and mobilization resources; and25
WHEREAS, the Theta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. has26
remained steadfast in its mission to uplift and empower the community through scholarship,27
mentorship, service, and advocacy.28
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body29
recognize and commend the Theta Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.30
for its decades of service on behalf of the citizens of Fayette and Coweta counties as well as31
extend best wishes for continued success.32
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed33
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Theta Lambda34
Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.35
