A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Delta Air Lines on its centennial anniversary; and for other

purposes.2
WHEREAS, on March 2, 2025, Delta Air Lines will celebrate 100 years of operation,3
becoming the first United States airline to reach the centenarian milestone; and4
WHEREAS, Delta Air Lines was founded on March 2, 1925, as Huff Daland Dusters, the5
world's first aerial crop-dusting company; and6
WHEREAS, operating as Delta Air Service, the airline's first passenger flights took off four7
years later, and Delta established Atlanta as its headquarters in 1941; and8
WHEREAS, today, Delta maintains a team of 100,000 people who deliver a world-class9
customer experience on over 4,000 daily flights, with Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson10
International Airport serving as Delta's largest hub; and11
WHEREAS, over the years, Delta has grown alongside the State of Georgia and today12
employs 36,000 Georgians while connecting the cities of Albany, Augusta, Atlanta,13
Brunswick, Columbus, Savannah, and Valdosta to destinations around the world; and14

WHEREAS, Delta's world-class connectivity strengthens Georgia's position as the top state

for business and contributes to the state's economic vitality; and16
WHEREAS, with over 900 peak-day departures to more than 200 global destinations, Delta17
connects thousands of people around the globe to and through Atlanta daily; and18
WHEREAS, Delta continues to build on its longstanding commitment to Georgia,19
maintaining dedicated partnerships with the state's education pipeline, from K-12 schools to20
the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia, to produce21
the next generation of aviation professionals within the state.22
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23
recognize and commend Delta Air Lines upon the grand occasion of its centennial24
anniversary and celebrate its century of excellence, innovation, and service.25
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26
to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the27
press.28
