25 LC 112 3316 Senate Resolution 384 By: Senators Watson of the 11th, Goodman of the 8th, Echols of the 49th, Williams of the 25th, Hickman of the 4th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Mrs. Becky Futch upon her retirement; and for other 1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Mrs. Becky Futch graduated as Salutatorian and STAR student from Cook High3 School in 1991; and4 WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch graduated from Valdosta State University with degrees in Applied5 Mathematics and Secondary Education Mathematics in 1995; and6 WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch graduated from Troy State University with a master's degree in7 Instructional Technology in 2006; and8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch began teaching at Cook High School in 1995; and9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch is married to Jody Futch and is the mother of two daughters, Nicole10 Garcia, who is married to Adrian Garcia, and Erika Van Houten, who is married to John Van11 Houten; and12 WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch is "Mimi" to a granddaughter, Dawn, and a grandson, Aaron; and13 S. R. 384 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3316 WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch will be retiring in May after 30 years of teaching at Cook High 14 School; and15 WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch has made substantial impacts and investments into her students both16 through their academics and personalities; and17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this18 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 recognize and commend Mrs. Becky Futch for her decades of exemplary teaching and21 service, congratulate her upon her retirement, and extend the most sincere best wishes for22 continued health and happiness.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mrs. Becky Futch.25 S.
