A RESOLUTION
Recognizing February 2025 as Career and Technical Education Month and February 5, 2025,

as Georgia Career and Technical Student Organizations Day at the state capitol; and for other2
purposes.3
WHEREAS, organizations such as CTI, DECA, ENGAGE, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, FRC,4
HOSA, SkillsUSA, and TSA, along with career, technical, and agricultural education,5
provide a solid foundation for the youth of America and for the future business and economic6
development in our state; and7
WHEREAS, career and technical student organizations promote occupational excellence,8
leadership, and citizenship among their members, who are preparing for the workforce and9
further education; and10
WHEREAS, career and technical student organizations in Georgia are an integral part of and11
intra-curricular component for career, technical, and agricultural education programs, which12
are designed to support instructional objectives and the attainment of academic and technical13
competencies; and14

WHEREAS, they provide an opportunity for students not only to gain confidence and
15
knowledge through competition but also to become more motivated in becoming better16
students and more productive citizens, which in turn develops school and community leaders.17
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body18
recognize February 2025 as Career and Technical Education Month and February 5, 2025,19
as Georgia Career and Technical Student Organizations Day at the state capitol.20
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed21
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia22
Department of Education.23
