A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Thirty-fifth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $79,538,500 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirty-fifth representative district, as follows: 1. Lehua elementary school, Oahu Land, construction, and equipment for a new administration building and library in the front of the school. Land $1,000 Construction $10,000,000 Equipment $200,000 Total funding $10,201,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 2. Pearl City elementary school, Oahu Plans, design, and construction for slope stabilization. Plans $250,000 Design $250,000 Construction $5,000,000 Total funding $5,500,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 3. Pearl City elementary school, Oahu Plans, design, and construction for the replacement of playground equipment. Plans $100,000 Design $100,000 Construction $2,000,000 Total funding $2,200,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 4. Pearl City elementary school, Oahu Plans, design, and construction for the replacement of water supply lines. Plans $250,000 Design $250,000 Construction $5,000,000 Total funding $5,500,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 5. Pearl City elementary school, Oahu Plans, design, and construction for the resurfacing of a driveway. Plans $100,000 Design $100,000 Construction $2,000,000 Total funding $2,200,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 6. Pearl City high school, Oahu Design and construction for the resurfacing of the tennis courts. Design $50,000 Construction $600,000 Total funding $650,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 7. Pearl City high school, Oahu Design, construction, and equipment for a covered play court. Design $200,000 Construction $2,650,000 Equipment $150,000 Total funding $3,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 8. Pearl City high school, Oahu Design, construction, and equipment for the replacement of the auditorium dimmer system. Design $250,000 Construction $1,000,000 Equipment $3,000,000 Total funding $4,250,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 9. Pearl City high school, Oahu Plans, design, construction, and equipment for the renovation of F building. Plans $250,000 Design $250,000 Construction $5,000,000 Equipment $500,000 Total funding $6,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 10. Waipahu high school, Oahu Construction for phase 2 of campus repainting. Construction $600,000 Total funding $600,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 11. Waipahu high school, Oahu Construction for the replacement of broken gymnasium bleachers. Construction $2,000,000 Total funding $2,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 12. Waipahu high school, Oahu Construction for the resurfacing of multi-purpose athletic courts. Construction $1,000,000 Total funding $1,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 13. Waipahu high school, Oahu Design and construction for rekeying all exterior locks on campus. Design $93,750 Construction $343,750 Total funding $437,500 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. 14. Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu Design and construction for the completion of DREAMS Building; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances. Design $504,000 Construction $35,496,000 Total funding $36,000,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education. SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.
