NO. 851 THIRTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE, 2023 STATE OF HAWAII A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the sixteenth senatorial district. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $80,500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2023-2024 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the sixteenth senatorial district, as follows: 1. Aiea High School. A. Design and construction to replace cafeteria dining room windows and improvements for cooling or heat abatement measures; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances. Total funding $500,000 B. Design and construction for a new state of the art culinary program, new multipurpose room, and renovation of building C to convert culinary rooms to classrooms; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances. Total funding $12,000,000 C. Design and construction of a football field. Total funding $10,000,000 2. Aiea Elementary School. A. Installation of an elevator and construction of second floor connecting walkways for buildings A, B, and C. Design $800,000 Construction $4,000,000 Equipment $200,000 Total funding $5,000,000 B. Total funding $1,000,000 SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date. SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended for the purposes of this Act by the department of education. SECTION 4.
