A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. (a) The department of transportation shall identify any roadways other than Komo Mai drive that may be used as emergency egress routes from Pacific Palisades on the island of Oahu; provided that if the department of transportation is unable to identify an emergency egress route other than Komo Mai drive, the department of transportation shall determine the feasibility of constructing an alternative emergency egress route from Pacific Palisades. (b) The department of transportation shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2025. SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 3000.
