A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Eleventh REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $17,975,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the eleventh representative district, as follows: 1. Axis deer fencing, Maui Construction for fencing of property to prevent the migration of axis deer in Kihei. Construction $3,200,000 Total funding $3,200,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of health. 2. Flood mitigation and greenbelt fire prevention, Maui Construction for an R-1 water reservoir at Kūlanihākoi and Waipuilani and retention and detention ponds in Kihei. Construction $14,500,000 Total funding $14,500,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources. 3. Rock wall repairs and storm mitigation, Maui Plans, design, and construction for rock wall repairs and storm mitigation at TMK 3-9-001-012-0000. Plans $1,000 Design $1,000 Construction $273,000 Total funding $275,000 The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources. SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date.
