H.F. 394 Section 1. SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM 1 ELIGIBILITY. The department of health and human services 2 shall increase the gross income threshold under broad-based 3 categorical eligibility for the supplemental nutrition 4 assistance program to two hundred percent of the federal 5 poverty level for the household size. The department shall 6 implement the increase upon receipt of any necessary federal 7 approval. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanations substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill requires the department of health and human 12 services to increase the gross income threshold under 13 broad-based categorical eligibility for the supplemental 14 nutrition assistance program to 200 percent of the federal 15 poverty level for the household size.
