                    103RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY State of Illinois 2023 and 2024 HB2192 Introduced , by Rep. Daniel Didech SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:  70 ILCS 1205/8-13a new  Amends the Park District Code. Provides that a park district may enter into a lease, contract, or other agreement related to the acquisition of solar energy, including the installation, maintenance, and service of solar panels, equipment, or similar technology related to solar energy, for a period not to exceed 2.5 times the term of years provided for in other provisions authorizing a lease for equipment and machinery (currently, up to 8 years) when authorized by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the governing board of the park district. 1  AN ACT concerning local government.
2  Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3  represented in the General Assembly:
4  Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding
5  Section 8-13a as follows:
6  (70 ILCS 1205/8-13a new)
7  Sec. 8-13a. Agreements related to solar energy.
8  Notwithstanding Section 8-13, a park district may enter into a
9  lease, contract, or other agreement related to the acquisition
10  of solar energy, including the installation, maintenance, and
11  service of solar panels, equipment, or similar technology
12  related to solar energy, for a period not to exceed 2.5 times
13  the term of years provided for in Section 8-13 when authorized
14  by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the governing board
15  of the park district.
16  Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17  becoming law.
