1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding
5 Section 8-13a as follows:
6 (70 ILCS 1205/8-13a new)
7 Sec. 8-13a. Agreements related to solar energy.
8 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, a park
9 district may enter into a lease, contract, or other agreement
10 related to the acquisition of solar energy, including the
11 installation, maintenance, and service of solar panels,
12 equipment, or similar technology related to solar energy, for
13 a period not to exceed 2.5 times the term of years provided for
14 in Section 8-13 when authorized by the affirmative vote of
15 two-thirds of the governing board of the park district.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.
