HB3144 Engrossed LRB103 26309 HLH 52670 b
1 AN ACT concerning revenue.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic
5 Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
6 is amended by adding Section 605-1110 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 605/605-1110 new)
8 Sec. 605-1110. Local Chamber of Commerce Business Program.
9 The Department shall establish a Local Chamber of Commerce
10 Business Program for the purpose of providing grants to
11 certified local chambers of commerce. Grant moneys may be used
12 to market and develop the service area of the chamber of
13 commerce for the purposes of generating local, county, and
14 State business taxes and to provide small businesses with
15 professional development, business guidance, and best
16 practices for sustainability. No single chamber of commerce
17 shall receive grant funds under this program in excess of
18 $50,000 in any State fiscal year.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20 becoming law.
