1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5 adding Section 6.5 as follows:
6 (5 ILCS 490/6.5 new)
7 Sec. 6.5. Moorish-American Awareness Month. The month of
8 August of each year is designated as Moorish-American
9 Awareness Month to be observed throughout the State as a month
10 to recognize the valuable contributions of Moorish Americans
11 to this State and to the various aspects of American society.
12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13 becoming law.
