Amy Elik SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:  105 ILCS 5/2-3.196 new  Amends the State Board of Education Article of the School Code. Provides that the State Board of Education, in cooperation with the Department of Public Health, shall prepare and disseminate to all public and nonpublic schools in this State information on instructional materials and programs that encourage healthy screen time usage, along with ways to incorporate off-screen activities into daily routines. Provides that the information provided by the State Board may be disseminated by schools to the parents or guardians of students. 1  AN ACT concerning education.
2  Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3  represented in the General Assembly:
4  Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
5  2-3.196 as follows:
6  (105 ILCS 5/2-3.196 new)
7  Sec. 2-3.196. Screen time. The State Board of Education,
8  in cooperation with the Department of Public Health, shall
9  prepare and disseminate to all public and nonpublic schools in
10  this State information on instructional materials and programs
11  that encourage healthy screen time usage, along with ways to
