1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5 Section 3-699.23 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/3-699.23 new)
7 Sec. 3-699.23. International Brotherhood of Electrical
8 Workers license plates.
9 (a) The Secretary of State, upon receipt of all applicable
10 fees and applications made in the form prescribed by the
11 Secretary, may issue special registration plates designated as
12 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers license
13 plates. The special plates issued under this Section shall be
14 affixed only to passenger vehicles of the first division,
15 motorcycles, and motor vehicles of the second division
16 weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates under this Section
17 shall expire according to the multi-year procedure established
18 by Section 3-414.1 of this Code.
19 (b) The plates shall display the International Brotherhood
20 of Electrical Workers symbol. In all other respects, the
21 design and color of the special plates shall be wholly within
22 the discretion of the Secretary. Appropriate documentation, as
23 determined by the Secretary, shall accompany each application.
