1 AN ACT concerning government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois State Police Act is amended by
5 adding Section 9.5 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 2610/9.5 new)
7 Sec. 9.5. Credit history of applicants.
8 (a) An applicant's credit history may not be used to
9 prevent the appointment of an Illinois State Police officer.
10 (b) This Section does not apply to employment actions
11 performed under a collective bargaining agreement in effect on
12 the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd General
13 Assembly. A collective bargaining agreement that conflicts
14 with subsection (a) may not be entered into, modified, or
15 extended on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act
16 of the 103rd General Assembly.
17 Section 10. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by
18 adding Section 10.8 as follows:
