1 AN ACT concerning health.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. References to Act. This Act may be referred to
5 as the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Act.
6 Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and
7 Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
8 amended by adding Section 2310-730 as follows:
9 (20 ILCS 2310/2310-730 new)
10 Sec. 2310-730. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Awareness
11 Program.
12 (a) Subject to appropriation, the Department of Public
13 Health, in conjunction with experts in the field of Duchenne
14 muscular dystrophy, shall develop mandatory protocols and best
15 practices for providing the necessary medical guidance for
16 Duchenne muscular dystrophy in Illinois.
17 (b) To raise awareness about Duchenne muscular dystrophy,
18 the protocols and best practices developed by the Department
19 under subsection (a):
20 (1) shall be published on a designated and publicly
21 accessible webpage;
22 (2) shall include up-to-date information about
