1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Clarence Franklin "Frank" Meredith of
4 Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Sherman, who passed away on
5 August 6, 2023; and
6 WHEREAS, Frank Meredith was born in Pana on July 31, 1941;
7 he served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years; he married Deborah
8 Shroyer in April 2006; and
9 WHEREAS, Frank Meredith retired from the State of Illinois
10 after 24 years of service; and
11 WHEREAS, Frank Meredith served as the Mayor of the Village
12 of Sherman from 1987 to 2007; he also served as president of
13 the Illinois Municipal League from 2000 to 2001; and
14 WHEREAS, Frank Meredith was preceded in death by his best
15 friend and shih tzu, Max; and
16 WHEREAS, Frank Meredith is survived by his wife, Deborah
17 Meredith; his daughter, Kristin (Chris) Fulscher; his son,
18 Brian (Melis) Meredith-Evans; his stepsons, Arik (Nicole) and
19 Andrew (Stephanie) Smith; his grandchildren, Carson
20 (Courtney), Cameron, Adam, Maddox, Sadie, Jaxon, Ty, and

1 Olivia Smith, Ryder Williams, and Erin Akin; and his
2 great-granddaughter, Elleree Smith; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5 Clarence Franklin "Frank" Meredith and extend our sincere
6 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7 him; and be it further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Frank Meredith as an expression of
10 our deepest sympathy.
