1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is of the upmost importance for all entities
3 throughout the State of Illinois to express support for our
4 country and State by only flying the American flag and the
5 Illinois State flag; and
6 WHEREAS, The American flag and Illinois State flag are
7 representative of the diverse make up of this State and this
8 country, making flying any other flag unnecessary; and
9 WHEREAS, All people from different walks of life are
10 welcome to our State where people are free to be themselves to
11 the fullest, a freedom that our American flag represents best;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, In light of recent events in the world, there
14 have been public institutes throughout the United States and
15 Illinois that have taken it upon themselves to fly foreign
16 flags alongside or instead of the United States flag; this is a
17 disgrace to our country and to those who have made sacrifices
18 to keep this country the best in the world; and
19 WHEREAS, The United States has been a trailblazer for
20 freedom by demonstrating what is achievable in a country while
21 providing a blueprint for other nations to follow to provide

1 the luxury of freedom; there is no place for our public
2 entities in this State to fly foreign flags; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4 HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we urge all entities throughout Illinois to fly only the
6 American flag and the State of Illinois flag; and be it further
