Citations Affected:  IC 12-14-30.
Synopsis:  Requirements for SNAP participants. Provides that the
division of family resources (division) shall require custodial parents
and noncustodial parents to cooperate with the child support bureau as
a condition of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
eligibility. Requires the division to disqualify from participation in
SNAP an individual during any month in which the individual is
delinquent in any payment due under a court order for the support of a
child of the individual. Requires the division to assign individuals who
are subject to the federal work requirements to an employment and
training program in order to participate in SNAP.
Effective:  July 1, 2022.

HOUSE BILL No. 1354
A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
human services.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. IC 12-14-30-7.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA
2 CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS
3 [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2022]: Sec. 7.5. (a) Subject to 7 CFR
4 273.11(o) and 7 CFR 273.11(p), the division shall require custodial
5 parents and noncustodial parents to cooperate with the child
6 support bureau as a condition of SNAP eligibility.
7 (b) Subject to 7 CFR 273.11(q), the division shall disqualify
8 from participation in SNAP an individual during any month in
9 which the individual is delinquent in any payment due under a
10 court order for the support of a child of the individual.
11 SECTION 2. IC 12-14-30-8 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
12 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
13 1, 2022]: Sec. 8. The division shall assign individuals who are
14 subject to the work requirements established under 7 U.S.C.
15 2015(d)(1) to an employment and training program (as defined in
16 7 U.S.C. 2015(d)(4)(B)).
