Summary of Legislation: The bill requires the governing body of a school corporation or charter school
to allow public comment at meetings, including meetings using electronic means of communication. It
provides that, if a state or local disaster emergency is declared, a governing body may conduct an electronic
meeting only if one or more of the schools of the school corporation or the charter school is closed at the time
of the meeting and the school closure is related to the disaster emergency.
Effective Date: July 1, 2022.
