Summary of Legislation: The bill provides that the State Seed Commissioner shall use certain federal
agricultural and vegetable seed standards as the state germination standards and requirements for agricultural
and vegetable seeds. It makes conforming changes.
Effective Date: July 1, 2024.
Explanation of State Expenditures: The bill would minimally increase workload for the State Seed
Commissioner to adopt rules using certain federal agricultural and vegetable seed standards as the state
germination standards and requirements and to incorporate the standards into their operations.
