Summary of Legislation: The bill permits the Commissioner of Labor or the Commissioner's representative
to serve safety orders or penalty assessments by electronic mail. The bill also expands where the
Commissioner of Labor or the Commissioner's representative may serve physical copies of safety orders or
penalty assessments.
Effective Date: July 1, 2024.
Explanation of State Expenditures: If safety orders or penalty assessments are sent through electronic
mail, the Department of Labor may experience a decrease in expenditures for postage or physical delivery.
