legislative council to assign to an appropriate committee during the
2024 legislative interim the issue of applying for and implementing a
Medicaid waiver to include nutrition supports for certain Medicaid
recipients.

HOUSE BILL No. 1254
A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning Medicaid.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] (a) The legislative
2 council is urged to assign to an appropriate committee during the
3 2024 legislative interim the topic of studying the feasibility and
4 benefit of applying for and implementing a Section 1115 Medicaid
5 demonstration waiver or any other Medicaid waiver to include
6 nutrition supports for the following Medicaid recipients:
7 (1) Medicaid recipients with chronic diseases that are
8 impacted by nutrition and diet.
9 (2) Pregnant women.
10 (3) Children.
11 The study under this SECTION must include a review of other
12 states that have implemented such a Medicaid waiver.
13 (b) This SECTION expires January 1, 2025.
14 SECTION 2. An emergency is declared for this act.
