Summary of Legislation: This bill requires an association to offer a cash payment option at athletic events
beginning July 1, 2024.
Effective Date: July 1, 2024.

Explanation of Local Expenditures: Beginning in FY 2025, provisions in this bill will require public
schools to offer cash payment options during athletic events in which an admission fee is charged. This may
represent a minor workload increase for public schools to update their point of sale systems if they do not
currently accept cash payment, and to the extent cash registers need to be purchased, school expenditures
could increase.
