1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing the 10th annual
2 Indiana Military and Veterans Legislative Day.
3 Whereas, Indiana Military and Veterans Legislative Day
4 (IMVLD) event was founded in 2013 by Representative John L.
5 Bartlett and a group of volunteers consisting of nonpartisan,
6 not-for-profit Indiana veteran service organizations and
7 military associations;
8 Whereas, The overall event is designed to enhance
9 communications between Indiana active duty and reserve
10 component military members, veterans, and their families and
11 State Senators and Representatives regarding military and
12 veteran-specific legislation moving through the Indiana
13 General Assembly;
14 Whereas, Participation by veterans and their families during

1 active legislative sessions in the Indiana General Assembly can
2 make a real difference when legislators decide the outcome of
3 various bills;
4 Whereas, By contacting legislators early in the session, each
5 person can play a pivotal role in making Indiana a better place
6 for our veterans and their families to work, play, and live;
7 Whereas, The Indiana veterans and supporters involved in
8 planning this annual event have been working diligently on
9 behalf of veterans and the state to provide this day for all
10 Hoosier veterans; and
11 Whereas, The Indiana House of Representatives wants
12 Hoosier veterans to stay in Indiana, raise their families, retire,
13 and continue to help grow our economy: Therefore,
14 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
15 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
16 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
17 recognizes the 10th annual Indiana Military and Veterans
18 Legislative Day at the Statehouse.
19 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
20 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to
21 Representative Bartlett for distribution.
