1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Kokomo High School
2 Principal Angela Blessing.
3 Whereas, Angela Blessing was named 2023 Indiana High
4 School Principal of the Year by the Indiana Association of
5 School Principals;
6 Whereas, Angela was named the District High School
7 Principal of the Year for District 5, which encompasses Boone,
8 Hamilton, Howard, Madison, Miami, and Tipton Counties;
9 Whereas, Angela graduated from Anderson University with
10 a bachelor's degree in elementary education;
11 Whereas, Angela began her working career with Kokomo
12 School Corporation as a principal at Bon Air Career Middle
13 School;

1 Whereas, Angela effectively led Kokomo High School to a
2 graduation rate of nearly 99 percent;
3 Whereas, Angela's work has increased the availability of
4 Advanced Placement courses, International Baccalaureate
5 Diploma Program courses, and dual credit courses;
6 Whereas, Angela championed a fine arts graduation
7 pathway, enabling students to explore and develop their artistic
8 talents;
9 Whereas, Angela established partnerships with Ivy Tech
10 Community College Kokomo and Indiana University Kokomo,
11 to provide students with pathways to higher education; and
12 Whereas, Angela has shown a strong devotion to the students
13 of Kokomo High School and has worked tirelessly to ensure
14 they are set up for success upon graduation: Therefore,
15 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
16 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
17 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
18 congratulates Kokomo High School Principal Angela Blessing
19 upon being named 2023 Indiana High School Principal of the
20 Year.
21 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
22 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
23 Representatives Mike Karickhoff and Victoria Garcia Wilburn
24 for distribution.
