1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing the importance of
2 career and technical education during Career and Technical
3 Education Month.
4 Whereas, February has been designated Career and
5 Technical Education Month;
6 Whereas, Career and technical education offers Hoosier
7 students the opportunity to gain the academic, technical, and
8 employability skills necessary for true career readiness;
9 Whereas, Career and technical education fosters
10 productivity in business and contributes to Indiana's position
11 in the international marketplace;
12 Whereas, Career and technical education provides students
13 with career choices in their fields and in their communities;

1 Whereas, Career and technical education prepares students
2 for these and other fulfilling careers by offering integrated
3 programs of study that link secondary and post-secondary
4 education and lead to the attainment of industry recognized
5 credentials; and
6 Whereas, Students in career and technical education student
7 organizations participate in authentic, meaningful experiences
8 that improve the quality of their education and increase their
9 engagement and achievement: Therefore,
10 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
11 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
12 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
13 recognizes the importance of Career and Technical Education
14 Month.
15 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
16 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
17 Representative Randy Lyness for distribution.
