Summary of Legislation: The bill requires health care entities to provide notice of certain mergers or
acquisitions to specified members of the General Assembly. It also specifies notice requirements.
Effective Date: July 1, 2024.
Explanation of State Expenditures: The bill requires health care entities to submit notice of a merger with
a value of at least $10 M to certain members of the General Assembly. The bills requirements are within
health care entities normal administrative actions and should be able to be implemented with no additional
appropriations, assuming near customary staffing and resource levels.
