SENATE BILL No. 48
A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
higher education.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. IC 21-49-5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS
2 A NEW CHAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
3 1, 2024]:
4 Chapter 5. Display of Information by State Educational
5 Institutions
6 Sec. 1. A state educational institution shall do the following:
7 (1) Prominently display on the home page of the state
8 educational institution's website a hyperlink to the state
9 educational institution's profile on the United States
10 Department of Education's college scorecard.
11 (2) Prominently display on the web page of each associate,
12 bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree offered by the state
13 educational institution a hyperlink to the state educational
14 institution's scorecard on the United States Department of
15 Education's college scorecard for the applicable associate,
16 bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree.

COMMITTEE REPORT
Madam President: The Senate Committee on Education and Career
Development, to which was referred Senate Bill No. 48, has had the
same under consideration and begs leave to report the same back to the
Senate with the recommendation that said bill be AMENDED as
follows:
Page 1, line 1, delete "IC 21-49-3" and insert "IC 21-49-5".
Page 1, line 4, delete "3. Disclosures" and insert "5. Display of
Information".
Page 1, line 4, delete "of".
Page 1, delete line 5.
Page 1, line 6, delete "(a)".
Page 1, line 6, delete "shall publish on the" and insert "shall do the
following:
(1) Prominently display on the home page of the state
educational institution's website a hyperlink to the state
educational institution's profile on the United States
Department of Education's college scorecard.
(2) Prominently display on the web page of each associate,
bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree offered by the state
educational institution a hyperlink to the state educational
institution's scorecard on the United States Department of
Education's college scorecard for the applicable associate,
bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree.".
Page 1, delete lines 7 through 17.
Delete page 2.
and when so amended that said bill do pass.
