Summary of Legislation: This bill requires the sealing of certain records concerning a proceeding under
the red flag law if a person is found: (1) not to be dangerous; or (2) no longer to be dangerous.
Effective Date:  July 1, 2024.
Explanation of State Expenditures: The bill’s requirements are within the ISP’s routine administrative
functions and should be able to be implemented with no additional appropriations, assuming near customary
agency staffing and resource levels.
