Summary of Legislation: This bill prohibits the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) from
establishing a trade office in the People's Republic of China. It also makes a technical correction.
Effective Date: Upon passage.
Explanation of State Expenditures: The IEDC could incur expenses related to closing an office located
in China. The bill’s requirements are within the agency’s routine administrative functions and should be able
to be implemented with no additional appropriations, assuming near customary agency staffing and resource
levels.
